Fuochi di Santa Lucia

In honor of Saint Lucia (December 13), boys and girls living in the working-class neighborhoods of the city of Crotone (Italy) set up tall wooden pyramidal structures to be burned on December 13. A real race between neighborhoods to see who can build it higher and be able to take/steal as much material as possible. A thousand-year-old tradition that runs the risk of being forgotten given the massive depopulation caused by the hostile environment, Crotone is the last city in the quality of life rankings, and the economic crisis that has been sinking this city for decades. - In this regard since 2017 I follow various districts of the city in order to try to leave a testimony of this tradition.
